IQ Group adds new executive from SS&C

IQ Group has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Kate Westacott as executive manager – technology and AI services, reinforcing its technology and AI consulting capabilities with a newly-created role.
Westacott joins IQ Group from SS&C Technologies, where she was chief information officer for Asia-Pacific, leading large-scale technology and data-driven transformation programs for Australian superannuation funds and UK wealth organisations.
With over two decades of experience in strategy, technology, and business transformation, Westacott brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role, which will see her lead the firm’s technology consulting services.
Her responsibilities will include expanding capabilities across AI strategy, technology transformation, data, digital enablement, and emerging technologies, as well as working with clients to modernise technology platforms while supporting the responsible implementation of AI.
According to the report, the appointment comes as IQ Group continues to invest in helping clients respond to the growing role of technology, AI, and business transformation across the financial services sector.
IQ Group is a specialist consulting firm serving the superannuation, wealth management, and broader financial services sectors, and has built a reputation as trusted advisers to Australia’s financial services industry.
Chief executive, Brian Peters, said the appointment marked an important step in the firm’s growth strategy, noting that “technology and AI are reshaping every aspect of financial services, but successful transformation requires more than implementing new tools.”

The appointment supports IQ Group’s strategic focus on assisting super, wealth management, and financial services organisations as they adapt to rising regulatory expectations, evolving customer demands, and rapid advances in technology.
The firm intends to continue building its technology and AI capabilities alongside its existing consulting expertise, supporting clients through strategy, implementation, and broader transformation initiatives.
Westacott noted that “AI presents an extraordinary opportunity for organisations to rethink how they operate and serve customers,” and she is looking forward to working with clients to help them move beyond experimentation and realise sustainable, practical value from technology and AI.
IQ Group’s decision to strengthen its executive team with the appointment of Westacott reflects the firm’s commitment to providing clients with the expertise and guidance they need to modernise technology platforms and support the responsible implementation of AI.
