Track Rabbit, a West Chester, Pa., event-management and payments service, has introduced a new capability that lets race-day organizers register participants through its system while handling the actual payment through external channels such as Venmo, PayPal, credit cards or cash.

The company characterizes the addition as “a new flexible payment option for event organizers,” noting that it is particularly well suited to low-key gatherings like cars-and-coffee meet-ups and automotive shows. This functionality enables planners to operate the entire event workflow inside Track Rabbit without being compelled to route every transaction through a single payment gateway.

According to Track Rabbit, the feature reduces obstacles for users and grants them the freedom to determine the timing and method of payment collection. “This new option opens up new opportunities to those [event] organizers to utilize everything our platform offers for tracking, collaboration, and more, while continuing to run payment exactly as they always have,” said Tori Drach, the firm’s director of operations.

Separately, Fiserv Inc. disclosed that its Clover point-of-sale solution will handle transactions at Princess Auto Stadium, the home field of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. The announcement marks a significant step in the Milwaukee-based processor’s push into the Canadian stadium-payments arena.

Fiserv reports that six of the league’s nine venues are already equipped with Clover. “The Winnipeg Blue Bombers partnership is the most recent example of Clover’s growth across Canada,” stated Brian Green, general manager of Clover Canada, emphasizing the platform’s expanding footprint in venues nationwide.

In its second-quarter report, Fiserv indicated that Clover generated an annualized gross payment volume of $367 billion. The suite provides venue-management tools, point-of-sale hardware and processing services, all of which will be deployed to support payment operations at Princess Auto Stadium.

The introduction of Track Rabbit’s external-payment option and Fiserv’s continued rollout of Clover in Canada illustrate a rising appetite for adaptable payment infrastructures within the events sector. As the market evolves, further innovations aimed at meeting the diverse needs of organizers and attendees are expected.
