This seminar is focused on toxic synthetic chemicals that are present in our indoor air, tap water and in building materials. Allergies, immune system suppression, fatigue, nervous system complaints, and many other conditions are triggered or made worse by such substances.
Emphasis is placed on how to identify problems, what their health impacts are, and how to take effective action. The viewpoint is holistic – we are concerned with the well being on all levels of the people who occupy the building. Topics include:
- Biological contaminants i.e., mold, bacteria etc.
- Volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), such as formaldehyde
- Pesticides
- Combustion gases, such as carbon monoxide
- Water pollution
- Dust and particulates
- Environmental stressors, such as humidity and temperature
Resources - Online Course Pack Indoor Climate (IC) . The IC Online Course Pack is included as part of the BBEC program for students who are registered in the entire BBEC Certification Track.
Time requirement - 5 days. Successful completion of a written exam and completion of the CC is required for BBEC status.
Course Materials - IBE provides a Course Handbook distributed the first day of the class. This comprehensive notebook is designed to supplement the daily lecture.
Course Equipment - IBE provides equipment for use during the classroom instruction. Students are expected to purchase equipment for course inspection assignments.

Currently, IBE plans three to four professional educational seminars per year offered at various locations in the US. This provides opportunities for the Institute to invite guest lecturers to contribute their Bau-biologie experience and to see close-up how Building Biology principles can be applied in practical settings.
This package is offered to students who desire topic specific information and who do not seek BBEC certification.
For two Seminars - Indoor Air Quality and Electromagnetic Radiation only paid in advance is $2250. A savings of $250.00
